What a difference a year makes.
I can’t stress that enough. The value of time and what you do with it. Have you ever heard that poem about time?
To realize the value of one year:
Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of one month:
Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour:
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute:
Ask the person who has missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize the value of one second:
Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond:
Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when you share it with someone special.
What a great poem. The value of time. For the purpose of this blog entry I’m going to discuss the value of one Team Beachbody Summit to the next. My first Summit was in June 2011. It was in LA and very close to the Beachbody Headquarters. Mark went to Las Vegas for a work convention and I went to LA. I charged my hotel, I used a payment plan to get my ticket to summit and my frequent flyer miles to get there. I didn’t have a roommate and stayed several blocks away from the venue to save money. As the old saying goes “you either find an excuse or you find a way.” I found a way. So glad I did. I learned from so many great people and it helped boost me into another level in every aspect of my life and coaching style.
Fast forward one year. One solid year of helping people, of promoting the business, of sharing Shakeology and a promoting a healthy lifestyle consistently.
2012
The Summit was in Las Vegas. LA didn’t have a big enough venue to handle 5,000 coaches. Last year I bought a ticket to summit for myself and for Mark. I had a feeling. After going on the Success Club Trip to Atlantis Mark changed the way he looked at coaching and why it is so important to share it with others. We were both excited about meeting our team members in Las Vegas. Some for the first time. This year we both went together. We paid cash for our hotel room. We paid cash for our plane tickets. We paid cash for our shopping spree before the trip. We pretty much paid cash for everything. Amazing. Going from barely able to make it and charging everything to paying cash for two people. Crazy improvement. Right?
So many awesome things happened in Vegas. If you follow me on facebook or twitter then you probably saw most of it. Recognition, inspiration, training, friends, parties, and more. We finally got on the plane home and were happy to see our son. A few weeks after we have a family trip planned to Cozumel. Then we turn right around and see Tony Robbins in San Jose and walk on hot coals. What? Who? Me? I’m walking on hot coals with Tony Robbins? Last year this was not on my radar. Two years ago if you had told me that in 2012 I’d be going to the Bahamas, Las Vegas, Cozumel and San Jose all within 7 months I would have called you liar.
Our lives have done a complete 180 from where we were before Beachbody. We are setting bigger fitness goals, bigger financial goals, bigger everything goals. We are no longer content just getting by. We are no longer excuse makers. We either find a way or…you know. We make choices that align with our goals.
I’m sure this post may seem like I’m tooting our horn. There are tons of things I could talk about that we’ve accomplished. I’m proud of many things we’ve done. We’ve been together 20 years and there have been many ups and downs. Working together on ourselves has led us into a great path. I know this is only the beginning for us.
My mind goes nuts thinking about what will happen before the next summit. How much will we grow between now and then? How many people will we help between now and then? How many people will join or team and not only change their own lives but change the lives of those around them? I get so excited thinking about it.
That is my question to you. Are you ready for something more? Are you ready to break away? Are you ready to stop saying you don’t have the time or the money? If you don’t have the time or the money then you NEED to do this. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Service to many leads to greatness.
All you have to do is begin today with improving your life just a little and then sharing it with others. Do that consistently over a year and you will see the same or better success that we’ve seen. The value of time. Join us now and imagine your life a year from now. It can be everything you want it to be and more.
