Skinny

August 24th 2012
Skinny What would you do to be skinny? I know what I would do. I did it and guess what? It didn’t work. Sometime around the age of 12 I realized my self-image. I was at a friend’s house and we were trying on jeans. Hers were 2 sizes smaller than mine. I immediately thought that I was not good. I was fat. I was 12! I wasn’t fat. I was just a different shape. I didn’t have a clue about dieting. We ate out of box or can most of the time. I remember the regular meals at my house were fried Continue Reading >

Coaching. What is it?

August 22nd 2012
Coaching. What is it? Many people have heard of P90X. They understand that P90X and Insanity are a part of Beachbody. Some people may even know that Shakeology is connected with Beachbody. Very few people understand the coaching opportunity. I assumed it was one thing and it wasn’t what I thought. My assumptions: • Pyramid scheme • I’d have to sell stuff to my friends • I’d have to host home parties • I’d have to store and deliver products • I’d be out of Continue Reading >

Pain vs Pleasure

August 4th 2012
Pain vs Pleasure Mark and I attended Unleash the Power Within recently. Tony Robbins and Joseph McClendon III were awesome. So many lessons learned that weekend. So many breakthroughs. I’ve been listening to Tony Robbins in the car almost every day. The lesson today was about Pain vs. Pleasure. We do things to either avoid pain or to seek pleasure. It is in our DNA. Many times we do this on an unconscious level. If the pain of doing something seems greater than the pleasure that may be gained Continue Reading >

The Fire Walk Metaphor

July 24th 2012
The Fire Walk Metaphor Mark and I just returned from Unleash the Power Within. It is the most popular Tony Robbins Seminar. It is the one which includes the fire walk at the end of day 1. It is 4 days of ups and downs. Mostly ups though. I will not go into detail of what we did. You have to experience it for yourself. We prepared for about 12 hours for the fire walk. The energy and excitement in the room was amazing. It wasn’t all just about fire walking. That was one piece of things. The fire Continue Reading >

Work harder on yourself than you do on your job

July 18th 2012
Have you heard that before? Work harder on yourself than you do on your job. I never really understood what that meant until recently. I started listening to personal development around 2006. I had just returned to work after having my son and had the pleasure of watching Oprah every day while I was on leave. She had so many specials with Louise Hay, Dr Wayne Dyer and many others. She focused on getting yourself in a better state and focusing on what you have instead of what you don't have. I ordered Continue Reading >

What a difference a year makes

What a difference a year makes. I can’t stress that enough. The value of time and what you do with it. Have you ever heard that poem about time? To realize the value of one year: Ask a student who has failed a final exam. To realize the value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby. To realize the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper. To realize the value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet. To realize the value of one minute: Ask Continue Reading >

Life Changing Experience

April 2nd 2012
Dreaming big. I can dream big. I do dream big. I’ll lie in bed or day dream about where I believe my life will be at the end of the year, 5 years, 10 years. Have you ever just sat down and really thought about it? I know for many years I thought I did. But I really didn’t. I’d think about what it would be like to be rich or have ripped abs. What would my life be like? Then I started to think about the “how” too much. How would I actually get there? Would my company get bought out and Continue Reading >

Scatter-Brained

March 19th 2012
Scatter Brained Over the moon with excitement about this upcoming trip to the Bahamas. I have to perform a brain dump. I spent most of my adult life insecure about myself. The way I looked, the way I felt, and in my abilities to do anything. I was afraid to try. I was afraid to fail. I was afraid. Even when I was at my lowest weight ever I was still critical of myself. I needed a flatter stomach. I needed to be a smaller size. I never looked at myself and said nice things. I would look at other Continue Reading >

Change. Do you really want it? Are you ready for the Challenge?

March 17th 2012
Change. Do you really want it? Are you ready for the Challenge? I’m not singling out any one person in this post. I’ve had tons of people tell me they want help. They want to lose weight. They want to feel better. In the same breath they also tell me that they do not want to work out, they do not want to get up early, they don’t have time, or they don’t have money. I have to ask my spouse, I’m going on vacation, I’ve been sick, I’ve got a lot going on. The list goes on and on. My Continue Reading >

Top Reasons I recommend being a Team Beachbody coach

March 10th 2012
Top Reasons I recommend being a Team Beachbody coach Accountability: If you struggle with your weight , body image and staying in a routine then coaching is perfect for you. Some people say, “I am over weight how can I coach?” Simple. You are on a journey just like everyone else. No one is perfect. They may look perfect but there is always room to improve. I yo-yo dieted for most of my adult life. Lose 10, gain 20, lose 20, gain 40. Being a coach helps keep you accountable. You are on a Continue Reading >
