9 Foods to Never Give Your Kids

September 17th 2013
By Joe Wilkes (Sourced from Team Beachbody newsletter) If you've followed the news on childhood obesity lately, you know the state of affairs is pretty grim. Childhood obesity rates have tripled over the past two decades, and most signs point to the next generation being the first whose life expectancy will be shorter than their parents'. Much of the blame for this trend has deservedly been laid at the feet of the producers and marketers of unhealthy food aimed at our youngest consumers, whose Continue Reading >

Take a leap of faith

August 19th 2013
Take a leap of faith Do you feel trapped in your life? I remember when I was younger the world seemed to hold so many possibilities and it was exciting. We used to just drop everything and try new things. I remember the day we decided to just pack up and move to Austin for a few years. After I graduated college the reality set it. I have massive amounts of debt from credit cards and student loans and my $24,000 a year job wasn’t going to cut it. I stayed in that cycle for years. Working at a job Continue Reading >

Are you happy with your life?

July 10th 2013
Are you happy? Are you happy or are you in No Man’s Land? You know the place where you are unhappy but not unhappy enough to do anything about it. I challenge you to start applying the compound effect. Small positive changes every day to get you to your goals. Many people give up too early because they want drastic and immediate results. Know that it does take time. I have an analogy that I use from a friend of mine. He said “It takes one woman 9 months to make a baby. You can’t throw time Continue Reading >

Baby Stepping into Cleaner Eating

June 18th 2013
Baby Stepping into Cleaner Eating   Thank you for allowing me to guest blog here on I am a Powerful Woman. It is my honor. A little bit about me so you know my background and knowledge on the subject. I spent most of my adult life following other people’s dreams for my life. Go to college, get a degree, get a job with benefits and it will all be great. Well it wasn’t great. I found myself laid off, overweight and in debt. Long story short I was introduced to Insanity in the summer of Continue Reading >

Insanity Certification Recap

May 30th 2013
On May 18th I took Insanity Certifcation. It was amazing. I walked in pretty nervous. I'm not a fitness instructor or a personal trainer. It was out of my comfort zone. 1/2 the class were already instructors of some sort and knew how to queue people. It was a full day. We kicked off the training with a full Insanity Max Interval workout. We used the music and program workout that we would be teaching to others. Beachbody hit this one out of the park. I heard from other fitness instructors who Continue Reading >

Balance your pH and save your life.

May 9th 2013
Balance your pH and save your life. Did that catch your attention? Do you even know what pH is? pH refers to acid-alkaline balance. Many western doctors do not use this as a practice to treat patients and many times it is not even considered as an issue. Tests happen, drugs are given and even surgeries and procedures that are not necessary. 1 is extremely acidic and 14 is totally alkaline. Your body wants to be slightly alkaline. The blood wants to maintain 7.35 to 7.45 and fights to do Continue Reading >

Are you done yet?

April 18th 2013
Are you done yet? In early April I attended a seminar by Sandi Krakowski. www.arealchange.com/blog/ I went in expecting to learn about social media and blogging and left with a stronger understanding of my purpose and exactly what I need to be doing with my gifts. I won’t ramble on and on about my special purpose and I’ll get right to the point. Sandi shared many things and I have pages and pages of notes. One story she told was about a lady who was working 90 hours a week doing many things. Continue Reading >

85 Days Until The Ab Reveal

March 26th 2013
85 Days Until the Ab Reveal I pledged to post every Tuesday about my ab progress. Wednesday we hopped on a plane to Disney World. Thankfully it was a Beachbody trip so they had healthy food choices and we packed many supplements and snacks. Somehow wine, ice cream and French fries still made it into my mouth. Shocking! I allowed myself this final trip to have a few things. I don’t know why I “reward” myself with unhealthy food when it doesn’t reward me. The last supper? Thin crust Continue Reading >
